For example, he’ll tell you that the Maldives are even better than they appear in the brochures. “It’s an absolutely idyllic island paradise. The water is pristine, the diving is amazing and the beaches are the best I’ve seen”, he says.

He can also tell you how it feels to watch the annual migration in Africa. “It was a ‘live’ David Attenborough experience. Nature at it’s most awesome.”

He’s even climbed to Base Camp on Mount Everest, even though he wasn’t sure his ‘dodgy knees’ would make it!
